Our manufacturing processes

Our processes include hot brass stamping, zinc alloy pressure die casting, plastic injection moulding, plastic compression moulding and sheet metal pressing. In house, we have a bright acid dipping plant for the stampings and vibratory deburring machines for stampings, pressings and die castings. These can be supplemented by sub-contract operations such as electroplating, anodising, powder coating, painting and polishing.

We have our own in-house tool room for the manufacture and maintenance of the tools used in the manufacturing processes. Our equipment includes CNC turning and electro-discharge machining (EDM or spark erosion), conventional turning, copy milling, shaping and grinding.

Hot brass stamping

We manufacture fully-machined hot brass stampings for a wide variety of industries including rail infrastructure, medical gas control, fluid control, plumbing, road transport, marine engineering and more.

The hot stampings and pressings are produced mainly in stamping brass BSEN 12165 CW617N formerly BS2872 CZ122, but we also produce items in copper, machining brass, aluminium bronze, naval brass and high tensile brass (manganese bronze).

Plastic compression moulding

The plastic mouldings we produce are from both thermoplastic and thermosetting plastics. The thermoplastics are injection moulded and the thermosets are both compression moulded and direct screw transfer moulded.

Typical thermoplastics moulded are ABS, nylon, polythene, polypropylene and acrylic while the thermosets include glass filled epoxy, glass filled silicone, melamine, glass and cellulose filled phenolics and urea formaldehyde.

Zinc Die casting

The zinc alloy pressure die castings are manufactured in EN 1774 ZL0400, formerly known as BS1004A and known in the trade as Mazak 3 or in Continental Europe as Zamak 3.
